Willowbrook, Illinois 60527 Willowbrook is a village located in DuPage County, Illinois. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 8,967. The total area of the village is 2.6 square miles. In 1959, a homeowner's group called the Ridgemoor Homeowners Association decided to incorporate as a village in order to be able to guide the development of farmland which surrounded their homes. Willowbrook became one of the state's smallest villages on January 18, 1960. The Village of Willowbrook Parks and Recreation Department currently owns and operates over 54 acres of parks on its 10 sites throughout the Village. The Parks and Recreation Department operates a year-round recreation program for all ages. The Village of Willowbrook is a member of the Gateway Special Recreation Association with six other communities in providing service to persons with disabilities who do not choose to participate in the general recreation programming.
