Bloomingale, Illinois 60108

The Village of Bloomingdale is located approximately 28 miles northwest of the Chicago "Loop" in suburban Dupage county. Bloomingdale is an established residential community, which traditionally served as a market center for surrounding rural areas. The population has more than quadrupled since 1960, as the Village has shared in the economic growth that has come from an expanding Chicago metropolitan area.
In 1839 Bloomingdale was established as a village . The official boundaries of the Village included the North Section (now Roselle) and the South Section (now Bloomingdale), in 1922, the North and South Sections were divided into two separate villages. Bloomingdale was incorporated as its own Village organization on June 16,1923.
Bloomingdale remained a small farming community until the post World War II growth of the 1950s, when the population almost quadrupled from 339 residents in 1950 to 1262 in 1960. The Village's population was 21,675 as of the 2000 Census and the current population is approximately 24,000. The land area of the Village is 6.8 square miles.
The village's municipal neighbors include Roselle to the north, Addison to the east , Glendale Heights to the south, and Hanover Park to the west. Transportation links include U.S. Route 20 and Army Trail Road. Commuter train service to Chicago is available in Roselle, two miles from Bloomingdale. O'Hare International Airport is approximately 12 miles from the village.
Several major shopping areas, including the 1.4 million square foot Stratford Square Mall, and a multitude of convenience centers offer a wide variety of goods and services to residents. Old Town Bloomingdale still thrives to this day. Located at Lake Street and Bloomingdale Roads, this quaint shopping, office area and preservation district boasts a collection of small retail businesses and offices located in restored buildings at the original site of the village's first settlement.
